Tales of the Town stands as a multifaceted endeavor designed to illuminate Oakland's Black heritage through three distinct formats: a podcast, a documentary, and a full-length album.
What began as an audio series led by Abbas Muntaqim and Delency Parham—both already known for hosting the Hella Black Podcast—later grew into a recorded project that gathered an array of Bay Area artists to reflect the region's wide-ranging sound, among them G-Eazy, Rexx Life Raj, Elujay, Jane Handcock, and J.Stalin.
