Biography
Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Tan Low, whose real name is Pablo Martinez Merino, draws favorable comparisons to Nick Drake, Mojave 3, and Red House Painters' Mark Kozelek. Although the Madrid-based musician lists post-punk acts such as Joy Division alongside post-rock groups like Disco Inferno and Bark Psychosis among his primary influences, these references do not immediately surface in his minimalist style, which sometimes adds cello or piano. Barcelona's Foehn label released his debut full-length album, El Deuteragonista, in 2002.
