Biography
Tears for Beers originated in 1994 within Kiel, Germany, and functions above all as a Celtic rock outfit. Irish folk, bluegrass, and country music likewise receive consistent emphasis in their work. The group’s debut effort, Tears for Beers (1994), remains their most folk-centric album, presenting ten traditional selections drawn from Ireland, Germany, and the U.S. together with a handful of covers. Cracky Bones (1996) featured multiple originals credited to frontman Lars Jensen, though traditional material continued to outnumber those self-penned tracks. Mud Water Dance (1999) contains solely folk songs, the majority of which trace back to Irish sources.
