Tede serves as the stage name for Jacek Graniecki, a highly active Polish rapper, beatmaker, and the person who established the Polish hip-hop imprint Wielkie Joł. He also works as an actor in television and cinema while running the apparel firm PLNY Wear. Graniecki entered the world in Warsaw during 1976 and assembled the hardcore hip-hop outfit Trzyha during the middle of the 1990s; the crew adopted the name Warszafski Deszcz in 1998. Their opening full-length, Nastukafszy..., came out via R.R.X. in 1999. Although it failed to register on the charts, the record slowly cultivated a devoted audience and received six separate re-pressings across multiple labels. Graniecki soon stepped out alone, issuing his first solo effort S.P.O.R.T. through R.R.X. in 2001, where it reached the Top 30 on the Polish album listing. He launched Wielkie Joł in 2002, and every subsequent Tede project has appeared on that imprint. The double album Trzyha Hajs Hajs Hajs arrived in 2003 and landed inside the Top Ten. Around the same period Graniecki began issuing mixtapes and unofficial remixes under the DJ Buhh moniker alongside his Tede albums and featured appearances. His third solo project, Notes, surfaced in 2004 and again cracked the Top Ten. Graniecki helped conceive the music program Bezele, which ran on VIVA Polska from 2004 to 2005. Following several film roles, he resumed recording and dropped his fourth solo album Esende Mylffon in 2006. He put out two volumes of mixtapes alongside DJ Macu, while Warszafski Deszcz’s second album Reminiscencje surfaced as a free download in 2007. Tede’s fifth solo release, Ścieżka Dźwiękowa, arrived in 2008 and reached the Top Ten. Warszafski Deszcz’s third album, Powrócifszy..., came in 2009 and peaked at number five, whereas Tede’s own double album Note2, also from 2009, climbed to number three and earned gold status. Two further Tede projects appeared in 2010: the double disc Fuck Tede/Glam Rap, which also went gold, and Notes 3D. Warszafski Deszcz resurfaced in 2011 with PraWFDepowiedziafszy..., another Top Five entry. Tede issued the double album Mefistotedes/Odkupienie in 2012, which hit number three and received gold certification. Elliminati followed in 2013 and #kurt_rolson in 2014; both earned gold plaques. Vanillahajs appeared in June 2015.
