Biography
Tee and Thee Crumpets came together for the first time in 1997, drawing three of their four members from cities far beyond the group's San Francisco base. Vocalist and bassist Tee arrived from Portland, OR, guitarist Paul from Canada, guitarist and organist Chris from Washington, D.C., and drummer Chris Harvey from the Count Backwards. The quartet channeled a gritty garage-punk sound reminiscent of Supercharger and the Mummies, issuing a self-titled debut EP on their own imprint during 1999. Also in 1999, the band inked a deal with Dionysus Records, which later issued the full-length Introducing Today's Young Hitmakers in spring 2000.
