Florida-based rapper Teejay3k approaches his lyrics with gravity, aiming to reflect the realities of his upbringing and daily life. Born in 1996, he absorbed music constantly during childhood as his mother kept records spinning at home and his father recorded demos for the car stereo. Following his parents’ divorce, he relocated to live with his mother yet remained focused on a potential professional football career. At age 18 a friend brought him to a studio session, prompting him to abandon sports aspirations in favor of rapping. His first single, 2014’s “Paper Soldiers,” featured Kodak Black and signaled strong potential, yet repeated setbacks eventually led him to abandon music altogether. After relocating to Orlando, Florida, he briefly attended college before withdrawing. Undeterred, he reentered the studio in 2018 and began generating material at a rapid pace, resulting in the 2019 release of three mixtapes: Since Jit Days, Product of My Environment, and Soul Searchin. The last of these projects marked a turning point, expanding his audience and establishing a dedicated following.
