Biography
Tekulvi, a quartet based in Chicago, brings together Chris Almodovar on guitar and vocals, Phil Naumann on guitar, Greg Sharp on drums, and Brian Harper on bass. The group began as a trio in 1998 and added its fourth member by the close of 1999. Its sound recalls the jagged, discordant rock long associated with Fugazi. Tekulvi first appeared on record in 1999 with the single “Tetrahedron/Pugilistica.” The band delivered its debut album, Who Knows Where We Are, in July 2000 on the self-run Camel Clutch label and supported the release with shows throughout the Midwest and East Coast. In April 2001 Loose Thread reissued the album.
