Biography
Despite issuing just a pair of singles and a lone album via Absolutely Kosher, Telegraph Melts crafted inventive and complex compositions. The group’s unusual setup of amplified cello, electric guitar, and percussion offered a refreshing alternative within the post-rock landscape. Formed in Arlington, VA, during late 1997, the ensemble disbanded in May 2000. Guitarist Bob Massey subsequently became a member of the Gena Rowlands Band, while cellist Amy Domingues has collaborated with Jenny Toomey. Meanwhile, percussionist Devin Ocampo provides the rhythm for the standout D.C. outfit Faraquet.
