Biography
Hailing from Southeast Michigan, Television City delivers a high-volume, melody-driven fusion of power pop, indie Americana, heartland punk, and raw Midwest grit. Guitarist/vocalist Brian Raleigh, who has long studied the work of Petty, Springsteen, and the Replacements, established the band as a veteran roots rocker whose earlier groups Porchsleeper and Fidrych followed a parallel sonic route. Raleigh gathered a seasoned Detroit-area lineup in 2016 to record the group’s first studio album, bringing in guitarist Garret Bielaniec, bassist/vocalist Kristin VonBernthal, drummer Jim Faulkner, and organ and pedal steel specialist Dave Feeny, who also served as producer. The resulting self-titled ten-track LP appeared in 2018 on Gangplank.
