Tenet

Tenet emerged from an elite Canadian thrash lineage that included alumni from Zimmer's Hole and Strapping Young Lad, with additional ties to Fear Factory and Dethklok. The group delivers classic, high-energy thrash metal that evokes the era when Anthrax and Slayer dominated the metal landscape. Jed Simon originally launched the project in 1996 as a side endeavor tied to Strapping Young Lad, treating it at first as a studio-only outlet where he recorded occasional demos and gradually developed fresh songs. Once the band secured a deal with Century Media, Simon gathered the necessary personnel to turn Tenet into a functioning entity, bringing aboard Strapping Young Lad's Gene Hoglan and Bryan Stroud along with Steve Souza of Legacy (later Testament) and Glen Alvelais from Forbidden. More than ten years after its inception, the outfit issued its first full-length album, Sovereign, through Century Media.
