Biography
Reviving the polyphonic vocal customs of Sardinia, whose origins stretch back more than 1,000 years, are the four members of Tenores di Bitti: Danielle Cassellu, Mario Pira, Piero Sanna, and Tancredi Tucconi. Their command of this heritage has earned the quartet admirers among experimental jazz players and prompted recording collaborations with Ornette Coleman as well as Lester Bowie of the Art Ensemble of Chicago.
