Biography
Operating simultaneously as Brett Marvin And The Thunderbolts, this UK jugband-cum-skiffle outfit made scant effort to conceal the arrangement, even though each incarnation held contracts with separate recording companies. Producer and entrepreneur Jonathan King extended his support to The Dinosaurs by signing them to his UK label. Their first single, ‘Seaside Shuffle’, reached number 2 in 1972, while the next year brought only a minor chart placement for ‘On A Saturday Night’. Once later releases failed, the Brett Marvin name returned in full, and vocalist/keyboard player Jona Lewie soon pursued a solo path.
