Biography
Emerging in 1991 as punk survivors, ADZ arose from the remnants of the legendary Orange County band the Adolescents. The reformation brought back original frontman Tony Reflex (a.k.a. Tony Adolescent), guitarist Rikk Agnew and drummer Casey Royer. After shortening their name to ADZ, they signed with Lethal Records and issued the comeback effort Where Were You?. Yet Royer and Agnew soon departed following only a handful of local shows, so Reflex carried on by recruiting guitarists Kirk Mosher and Roger Ramjet, bassist Mike Rouse and drummer Matt Young to record the follow-up, 1995's Piper at the Gates of Downey. Additional personnel shifts then prompted Ramjet and Rouse to exit in favor of original Adolescents guitarist Frank Agnew, guitarist "Slippery" George Paras and bassist Bruce Duff, leading to the 1998 release Transmissions from Planet Speedball and, a year later, ADZ's Odz'n'Sodz.
