Biography
Following the relocation of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys from Fort Worth to Oklahoma, those unwilling to leave formed the Alabama Boys as yet another Texas Western swing ensemble. Don Ivey, Cotton Thompson, and Darrell Jones launched the group on piano, fiddle, and bass respectively. Over the years a steady stream of players passed through the lineup, and several later joined Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, illustrating that what goes 'round comes 'round.
