Biography
Originating from Eufaula in southeastern Alabama, the Alabama Gurlz operate as a contemporary gospel ensemble that relies on rotating featured soloists together with layered group harmony vocals. Their first full-length release came in 2012 when the five-piece issued Everyday Life on Kool -N- Saved Boyz Records. After the lineup contracted to a quartet, 4 Winds, a Malaco imprint, brought out the second album The Gurlz Live in September 2014, simultaneously issuing the project on DVD. That November the same label included the group’s recording of “Born on Christmas Day” on the holiday anthology A Malaco Christmas.
