Biography
Hailing from a modest Irish town, brothers Paul and Phil Wilkinson, performing as The Amazing Pilots, journeyed to England to capture their understated melodies. Following the 2001 self-release of their EP Graduate Blood and a favorable NME assessment, the pair secured a contract with London-based Easy!Tiger records (Calexico, Wheat), only for the imprint to shut down two weeks before their debut single appeared. Undeterred, they completed the album by working with producer David Odlum (the Frames, Josh Ritter, Gemma Hayes) in Dublin and France. Hello My Captor was issued in spring 2005 via Undertow in the U.S. and Canada and Decor records in Europe.
