Biography
In Sydney, Australia, the year 2000 marked the formation of The Amenta, pieced together from the remains of multiple defunct death and black metal outfits. The band’s deliberately unidentified members sought, in their own phrasing, to "embody a new age of extremism" by fusing components of black, death, dark, ambient, and industrial metal on the 2002 demo/EP Mictlan. Two years afterward, the enigmatically titled full-length Occasus appeared via the French imprint Listenable Records.
