The Ark Band ranks among the leading reggae ensembles across the United States, delivering sets at premier festivals and concerts where strong vocals, instrumental command, and rich harmonies consistently thrill listeners. Based in Columbus, Ohio, the musicians avoid prolonged studio sessions and instead emphasize raw, high-energy live shows. Five years passed between their well-received debut album Na Give Up, released on Amerisound Records, and the subsequent project. The members, united by strong religious convictions, believe their collective purpose centers on lifting spirits through Caribbean music. Former residents of St. Lucia, the Virgin Islands, and Jamaica form the core, with founders Terry Bobb on drums and vocals, Eustace Bobb on bass and vocals, Mike Scott on guitar and vocals, and Morris Brown on keyboards. Supporting players on recordings and select performances include Mike Smith on keyboards, Damon Arterbridge on lead vocals and percussion, Mike Iannicello on lead guitar, and Neal Carrington on trumpet and percussion. Sound engineer Joe McCarthy manages the controls to maintain tight execution. In 2000 the Ark Band issued its second album, Love Is What You Need.
