Biography
Originating as a solo venture in 1999 from Des Moines, IA, resident Mike Gustafson on drums, keys, and textures, The Autumn Project later expanded in 2001 when brothers Jess Huffman on guitar and John Huffman on bass came aboard. Their first recording, Fable, surfaced two years afterward via Zu Records. The follow-up full-length La Luna de Negra arrived in 2004 and earned the same associations with Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Mogwai, and Isis as its predecessor, thanks to its extended trance-like metal-gaze pieces. For the 2006 third album A Burning Light, the trio shifted over to Deep Send Records.
