Biography
Although the Blaenavon Male Voice Choir traces its formal establishment to 1910, male harmony singing in that Welsh community may extend back to 1873. Comprising roughly sixty singers whose ages span from adolescence to the eighties and who hail from surrounding locales, the ensemble devotes most of its efforts to charity concerts yet has also traveled across Europe and North America while supporting numerous bands and opera vocalists. Several recordings document its work: Bandleader issued 80 Years in Harmony in 1990, Soundline released Voices from the Valleys on March 5, 2001, Heritage appeared on March 24, 2003, and What Would I Do Without My Music? followed in 2007.
