Biography
The indie rock outfit the Bleachers, rooted in Las Vegas, traces its origins to 1999, when guitarists Joe Maloney and Marco Brizuela first crossed paths and struck up a friendship. By 2002 the pair had established the Bleachers and operated solely as a duo until the close of the following year. In the midst of that timeframe they captured a self-titled acoustic EP that saw release in 2002. Late in 2003 the lineup expanded twofold upon the arrival of multi-instrumentalist Kirk Petersen alongside drummer David Hines. Petersen’s exit during summer 2004 reduced the group once more to a trio. Throughout the ensuing twelve months the musicians prepared their first complete studio album, Suspicion, which emerged on June 27, 2006 via the independent Village Industries imprint.
