The Bluebirds

Blues-rock outfit the Bluebirds drew its core identity from sibling pair Buddy and Bruce Flett, lifelong Louisiana residents who launched the project in their native Shreveport during 1987. Buddy handled guitar while Bruce anchored the bass, and both shared vocal duties; prior to that venture the pair had sharpened their skills inside A-Train, a regionally entrenched unit that drew steady crowds across Louisiana and Texas venues for a full decade. Once A-Train disbanded, the Flett brothers promptly reassembled under the Bluebirds banner, at first convening only for casual Tuesday-night jams before elevating the project to a professional level upon issuing their first album, the 1995 LP Swamp Stomp. South from Memphis appeared the following year.
