Biography
In the 1980s a collection of Memphis players united as the Blues Busters to perform and lay down tracks during a brief window of activity. Guitarists Lee Roy Martin and Earl "The Pearl" Banks anchored the central roster alongside bassist James Price, drummer "Chicken " George Walker, and keyboardist Thomas "Blue" Cornes. The lineup held for roughly a year and produced thirteen recordings that first appeared on a High water album issued by producer David Nelson in 1986; a 1999 compact-disc reissue added three selections from an earlier configuration that placed "Funky' John Cole on bass and William "Boogie Man" Hubbard on keyboards.
