Details surrounding the Detroit post-punk duo the Bodies Obtained stayed scarce, marking them as an enigmatic pair. Their approach evoked the atmospheres of Eno, the Residents, and Throbbing Gristle, yielding the 2008 release of their debut album From the Top of My Tree. Drawing its title from a Joy Division lyric while folding in post-punk textures alongside early-era Siouxsie and vintage Roxy Music, the group issued a second batch of off-kilter tracks the next year under the heading Dead Plans. No live dates were scheduled for 2009-2010, given the band’s firm policy against performing onstage.
