Biography
Burning Bush, a Jewish music ensemble, features Lucie Skeaping as its leader on vocals, violin, and rebec, with the lineup completed by clarinetist Ben Harlan, multi-instrumentalist Robin Jeffrey on guitar and percussion, bassist Robert Levy, and trumpeter Kevin Street. Based in the U.K., the collective explores every strand of Jewish repertoire, ranging from klezmer and Sephardic music to Yiddish traditions and fusions shaped by medieval, Balkan, and Magreb elements. Three albums appeared from the group in 1997: The Best of Yiddish, Klezmer & Sephardic Music, Jesus, and Jesus Did It All. Klezmer & Hassidic Music followed the next year, while Folksongs From Israel arrived in 1999.
