Biography
Considered among the standout sibling pairings of trumpeters in modern jazz, Conte Candoli and Pete Candoli each amassed substantial individual credits before uniting as a team. Their first joint effort lasted from 1957 until 1962, followed by a reunion appearance at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1973. A 1972 nightclub revue incorporated Pete Candoli’s wife, Edie Adams, while the Candoli Brothers band kept issuing recordings into the early 1980s. Prostate cancer eventually took both brothers, Conte in 2001 and Pete in 2008.
