Hailing from Washington, D.C., the harmonizing soul ensemble known as The Choice Four produced recordings that warranted far greater recognition. In the mid-'70s the group cut material for RCA yet never landed a breakout hit, even while delivering emotionally resonant and skillfully performed ballads. Frontman Bobby Hamilton brought an above-average vocal approach to the material, with able support coming from Ted Maduro, Pete Marshall, and Charles Blagmore. Maduro and Marshall had previously sung with the Love Tones, while Blagmore had been a member of the Stridels. No single they released ever reached the R&B Top 40.
