Biography
Hailing from England, the Citations existed only briefly and concentrated chiefly on instrumentals whose style echoed that of the Tornados. The band's lone single, issued on EMI's Columbia label, paired the A-side "Moon Race," an instrumental patterned after "Telstar," with a far more dynamic B-side: a high-energy cover of Little Richard's "Slippin' And Slidin'" distinguished by credible lead vocals and urgent saxophone playing. Additional recordings in that vein might have secured the group a lasting legacy, yet the Citations disbanded in 1964 and its uncredited members dispersed without further notice.
