Biography
James Clark, a Canadian indie rock musician skilled on guitar and drums, also handles vocals and songwriting duties himself. One of his performing aliases is Clark Institute. During the 1980s he participated in several bands before launching a solo career near 1991. His first independent release arrived in 1992 as the EP Nobody Said. In the years that followed, he appeared at numerous live shows, collaborated with fellow performers, and contributed tracks to other artists’ projects. The 1998 album The Land That Tim Forgot marked his initial full-length effort under the Clark Institute name, featuring bassist Steven Howard, guitarist Greg Bonnell, keyboardist Garry Flint, and drummer Gord Fynes among the supporting musicians.
