Biography
Formed in Toronto during 2000, the Class Assassins drew members from the ranks of Vacant Lot, Direct Action, Hockey Teeth, and Bitter Grin. The band tracked a demo that year, yet it sparked little interest among listeners or labels. They headed back into the studio in 2001 to lay down the EPs Soap-n-Spikes and No Justice, No Peace. After gigs throughout Toronto and Ontario, the group once again entered the studio to shape its first full-length album. A signing with TKO Records paved the way for the 2002 release of State of Emergency. The band then toured Europe and North America behind the record. Observers have drawn parallels between the Class Assassins and Dropkick Murphys as well as Stiff Little Fingers, among other acts. ~ Jason MacNeil
