Biography
In 1993 the Cooters assembled around a stable trio that persisted through repeated lineup shifts. So attached to the name that they registered trademarks for both “the Cooters” and “Cooter,” the band issued its self-titled 7-inch debut in 1994 on the Oxford, MS-based Zombie Birdhouse label. The 1995 follow-up Invasion of the Cooters and 1998’s The Moon Will Rise Again continued the same stylistic loop. On all three releases, Raw Cooter handled guitar and vocals, Neuter Cooter played bass and sang, and Judas Cooter supplied the drums, carrying the music from punk into metal and back again.
