Biography
Having co-founded Sleater-Kinney a decade and a half earlier, riot grrrl Corin Tucker took the stage at a benefit concert in Portland, OR, and worked several new compositions into her solo performance. Once the show ended, Tucker—who had kept Sleater-Kinney on hiatus since 2006—chose to shape those pieces into a complete album. She brought the songs to Little Gold Book Studios in northeast Portland, where percussionist Sara Lund of Hungry Ghost and Golden Bears members Seth Lorinczi and Julianna Bright helped her track the 11-song set. The finished album, 1,000 Years, appeared in 2010.
