Biography
The New York-based Defectives cultivated a notorious profile for clashing with crowds and invariably leaving stages strewn with shattered glass by the end of each show. Drawing from the New York Dolls, the Real Kids, the Heartbreakers, and assorted other trash-oriented punk acts of the 1970s, the group aligned with Cacophone Records in 1996. Their debut single Comin' Around appeared that same year, backed by a version of Hank Williams' "Cold Cold Hearts."
