The Dining Rooms

Stefano Ghittoni and Cesare Malfatti make up the Milan-based downbeat outfit the Dining Rooms. The pair first honed their skills performing in multiple groups within the city’s alternative and punk circles, later shifting focus toward producer-driven trip-hop and the relaxed, modernized lounge style that defines the Dining Rooms. Their debut album, Subterranean Modern, surfaced in 1999 via Milano 2000. Numero Deux secured U.S. release through Guidance in 2001, while the follow-up Remixes LP included reworkings by Soulstance alongside the duo’s own efforts. Tre arrived at the start of 2003.
