Based in Chicago, this Celtic folk ensemble has performed across both the United States and Ireland. The group features Mike Kirkpatrick on guitar and vocals, Winston Damon handling trombone, percussion, and sax thumb piano, Sean Clelland on fiddle, Kathleen Kane contributing flute, accordion, whistle, and vocals, David Callahan providing bass and vocals, along with Jackie on bodhran.

Their debut album, The Drovers, appeared in 1992. The EP Kill Mice Elf followed in 1994, and Little High Sky Show, produced by Steve Albini, arrived the next year. The Drovers devoted the balance of the nineties to live shows instead of studio work. In addition to local performances around Chicago, they joined festival bills such as the Guinness Fleadh and supplied material to compilations including the Blink soundtrack.
