Biography
Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, the indie pop trio The Dudley Corporation comprises Dudley on guitar and vocals, Joss handling drums, accordion, and vocals, and Pip on bass. The three musicians came together in 2000 once Joss chose to aid Dudley in shaping songs the latter had already written, after which Pip came aboard soon afterward. Their first appearance came in November 2000 with a split single alongside Joan of Arse on the Jonathon Whiskey label. Three months later, Scientific Laboratories, a Dublin imprint, released another split single featuring Paul O'Reilly. In August, Obelisk put out the band's own three-song single, The Morning After. Those releases paved the way for the full-length The Lonely World of the Dudley Corporation on Scientific Laboratories, which reached stores near the close of 2001. The album was tracked at the well-known Chemikal Underground studio, where members of the Delgados supplied additional horn and cello parts.
