Biography
The Dylan Group formed as an ambient pairing between jungle DJ Dylan Cristy, who co-established the Bubble Core imprint in New York, and Adam Pierce, recognized through his Mice Parade project. Their distinctive approach relied on live instrumentation such as vibraphone and drums, setting them apart and leading to appearances on various compilations plus a split with H.I.M. prior to the 1998 release of their debut album It's All About (rimshots and faulty wiring). Later in the same year came Re-Interpreted, featuring remixes from artists including Bundy K. Brown and Nobukazu Takemura. By 1999, now expanded to a quartet with Scott McGovern and Tyler Pistilli, the group returned via More Adventures in Lying Down, which was succeeded the following year by Ur-Klang Search.
