Serving as Clancy Eccles’s Jamaican studio ensemble amid the formative reggae era of the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Dynamites supplied backing for numerous Clan Disc acts, among them the producer himself, Cynthia Richards, and pioneer DJ King Stitt. Personnel shifted across sessions, yet the stable core comprised Winston Wright on organ and piano, Hux Brown on guitar, Jackie Jackson on bass, Gladstone Anderson on piano, and Paul Douglas on drums. Expanded by additional saxophones, the unit cut Fire Corner in 1969, an exceptional collection of atmospheric reggae instrumentals that also featured King Stitt on the title track and “Vigorton 2.”
