Biography
Following the breakup of Knoxville, TN alt-country outfit the V-Roys, former member Mic Harrison assembled a new group called the Faults. Drawing on leftover material originally penned for his old band, Harrison assembled the Faults as a fresh vehicle. This ensemble shifted away from the V-Roys’ signature twangy rock toward a denser, guitar-driven power-pop sound. For the band’s self-titled debut album, issued in 2001, the mid-30ish Harrison recruited several younger players: bassist Paxton Sellers, who had also played in the V-Roys, guitarist Robbie Trosper, and drummer Jason Peters. Superdrag’s Don Coffey Jr. produced the record, which appeared on Lynn Point Records—the imprint Harrison and V-Roys drummer Jeff Bills had launched years earlier to promote late-’80s and early-’90s recordings by Knoxville acts.
