Biography
Formed in 2008, the Few Against Many emerged as a melodic death metal outfit given to occasional orchestral flourishes when vocalist and rhythm guitarist Christian Älvestam launched the project after leaving Scar Symmetry; the peripatetic musician had previously logged time in Miseration, Solar Dawn, Torchbearer, and roughly a dozen other underground heavy metal acts. His collaborators on the group’s 2009 debut album Sot likewise brought extensive credits, among them lead guitarist Patrik Gardberg (DivineFire, Torchbearer), bassist Anders Edlund (Angel Blake, Incapacity, etc.), drummer Jani Stefanovic (The Weakening, Am I Blood, Solution .45, etc.), and backing vocalist Pär Johansson (Belsemar, Satariel, etc.).
