Bucks Fizz first won over the British public through their 1981 Eurovision Song Contest appearance and the chart-topping single "Making Your Mind Up," which kept the quartet on the U.K. pop listings for much of the following decade. Two decades of personnel shifts left Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan, and Bobby G as the remaining mainstays, until a legal dispute over ownership of the Bucks Fizz name forced the issue into the courts. After several failed attempts at resolution, Nolan, Baker, and founding vocalist Jay Aston adopted the shortened name the Fizz and completed the lineup with former Sweet Dreams member Bobby McVay. A 2016 tour and a fresh version of "The Land of Make Believe," helmed by hitmaker Mike Stock, renewed their momentum and enabled the quartet to crowdfund their first album as the Fizz, titled The F-Z of Pop. Returning to the studio with Stock, the group cut new takes of three earlier successes—"The Land of Make Believe," "Camera Never Lies," and "Piece of the Action"—alongside original tracks. The resulting collection climbed to number 25 on the U.K. chart, marking their strongest placement in 31 years.
