The Forms

Formed in 2000 and based in Brooklyn, New York, the Forms feature Matt Walsh (aka Acquaman) handling drums, Rob Stillwell covering bass and vocals, and Alex Tween (aka Ecco Teres) on vocals and guitar. Their sound merges punk energy with indie pop, drawing comparisons to the Dismemberment Plan, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Slint. Over recent years the group has performed alongside Brandtston, Arab on Radar, the Red and the Black, and Black Eyes. Early in 2002 they entered the studio with Steve Albini (Nirvana, the Breeders, Cinerama) to track their first album, which local imprint Threespheres issued as Icarus in February 2003 amid widespread critical acclaim.
