Biography
Local talent producers first spotted Sammi-Jack, Margaux, Sarah, Carlie, and Samantha during a regional staging of The Sound of Music in Coral Gables, FL, and promptly assembled them into the girl group the Gemz. Their self-titled EP reached stores in 2004, and the full-length debut Blue Is for Girls followed in 2006. That summer the five members, then aged 11 to 15, took the album on the road by playing a circuit of East Coast summer camps.
