Biography
Louisville, KY's the Glasspack originated in 1999 when singer/guitarist Dirty Dave Johnson assembled the group and promptly tracked their debut album American Exhaust for the Man's Ruin label. The imprint's bankruptcy in 2000 compelled the band to issue that album themselves through Riverock Records and likewise handle their subsequent EP Road Warriors before securing a deal with Detroit-based indie label Small Stone. With the new arrangement in place, Johnson joined guitarist Lil' Bucky, organist Reverend, bassist Bobby Nova, and drummer the Cap'n to record the follow-up full-length Powderkeg, which reached stores in 2002.
