Biography
Hailing from Spokane, Washington, the Globes’ four members carried an understated guitar/bass/drum approach shaped by the Northwest indie scene when they relocated to Seattle shortly after high school to chase their musical ambitions, beginning work on a self-titled EP in 2007. The following year the group completed those debut sessions while playing roughly one hundred shows. By 2009 producer John Goodmanson—whose prior credits encompass Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney, and Death Cab for Cutie—had begun working with them, capturing the next EP, Sinter Songs. Barsuk signed the band soon afterward, resulting in the spring 2011 release of the first full-length, Future Self.
