Biography
Leading the understated indie pop/rock outfit Graves from Portland stands singer/songwriter Greg Olin. Over time, Olin has drawn extensive support from a shifting group of relatives and acquaintances as the band put out its debut Love Love Love in early 2003 via Film Guerrero, later moving to Hush Records for the August 2004 release Yes Yes Okay Okay, which included contributions from musicians associated with Norfolk & Western, Desert City Soundtrack, and Little Wings. To Sur w/ Love, containing material captured across four years and marked by greater variety along with mild experimentation, came next in early summer 2005. With Olin delivering lyrics that verge on stream-of-consciousness alongside an earnest and melodic style, Graves sustained its dedicated following beneath the mainstream when the fourth album Easy Not Easy emerged in October 2006.
