Biography
Emerging from Toronto in 2010, Canadian indie pop group the Holiday Crowd established a minimalist guitar pop approach inspired by acts such as Felt and the Smiths. Longtime associates Imran Haniff on vocals and Colin Bowers on guitar united with British ex-pat Alex Roberts on bass to anchor the lineup, whose characteristically brisk fusion of brightness and wistfulness soon earned a contract from the New Romantic label. Their first LP, Over the Bluffs, appeared in 2012 before indie pop specialists Shelflife Records acquired it for American release. In 2016 the band issued a self-titled follow-up that broadened their warm, introspective pop aesthetic.
