Biography
The Honeysmugglers came together in London toward the close of the 1980s, founded by Chris Spence, Steve Dinsdale, Ged Murphy, and Steve C. Their prominent use of Hammond organ led many to label the group as outdated, a perception the band found difficult to shake. Yet the four members blended melodic approaches from the 1960s with the smooth grooves of the 1990s, resulting in an energetic and melodic soundscape that felt more current than critics acknowledged. Despite issuing tracks through Non-Fiction and Ultimate Records, the Honeysmugglers parted ways on bitter terms in 1991, never having put out a full-length record.
