Biography
The confident alternative rock quartet known as the Hourly Radio features Aaron Closson handling vocals and guitar alongside Ryan Short on guitar, Adam Vanderkolk on drums, and Tim Jansen on bass. Formed in Dallas during 2004, the group set out to build a sturdy rock foundation that steered clear of prevailing chart fashions and online hype. Following twelve months spent refining their approach, they issued their self-released Lure of the Underground EP in January 2005. Rising local support soon translated into a standout set at the 2005 SXSW conference plus supporting tours with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and stellastarr*. By winter the band had signed with the independent label Kirtland, which made the limited-edition double A-side single “Crime Does Pay” available in June 2006. Their first full-length album, History Will Never Hold Me, arrived that September.
