Biography
Northern California musician Robert Vickers created the Incredible Vickers Brothers as an imaginary sibling act, taking on the identities of both Rob and Bob for the venture. A master pop artisan and multi-instrumentalist, he gained Bay Area recognition by launching the early-'90s psych-pop outfit Cerebral Corps and serving as drummer for indie pop stalwarts the Orange Peels. Teaming with Orange Peels frontman Allen Clapp in the producer's chair, Vickers launched the Incredible Vickers Brothers collaboration and captured its first album, Gallimaufry, issued by the Bus Stop label in 2008. Blending Beatlesque jangle pop with surfy Americana tones, he reactivated the project a full decade later through 2018's Torch Songs for Swingers, again produced by Clapp.
